About this role:

Noveon Magnetics is seeking a detail-oriented and technically driven Inspection Technician to support our growing advanced manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, thrives in a fast-paced production environment, and takes pride in precision, accuracy, and continuous improvement. The Inspection Technician will be responsible for programming, operating, calibrating, and troubleshooting automated inspection systems used to validate product quality and manufacturing performance. This individual will work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure products meet strict dimensional and quality requirements while supporting process optimization and equipment reliability.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Equipment Setup, Programming, and Maintenance
• Programing Automated Systems: Set up, program, and calibrate automated inspection equipment (e.g., Vision Systems, CMM, automated optical inspection, or custom robotic sorting systems) to evaluate machined parts, components, and assemblies.
• Validating Equipment Accuracy: Plan, execute, and analyze Gage R&R (Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility) studies and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) to ensure the reliability, repeatability, and statistical validity of automated inspection programs, software routines, and holding fixtures.
• Managing Traceable Calibration: Oversee, manage, and execute the calibration of automated inspection machinery and manual precision tools to traceable standards (e.g., NIST), ensuring total quality compliance, maintaining calibration logs, and safely managing master standards.
• Managing Equipment Configurations: Create, optimize, and maintain part program files, inspection routines, and recipe configurations for new and existing product lines.
• Interface & Adapt Overhaul: Comfortably navigate, troubleshoot, and operate international equipment interfaces, including machinery manufactured in China with translated user interfaces, varying software structures, or unique system logic.
Core Quality & Inspection
• Executing High-Tech Inspections: Perform automated and advanced dimensional and visual inspections to ensure products meet company quality standards, engineering
specifications, and customer requirements.
• Performing Traditional Verification: Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections , utilizing manual precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to
validate automated machine accuracy and read/interpret accompanying blueprints.
• Analyzing & Documenting Data: Identify, isolate, and document defects, nonconforming materials, or quality concerns. Maintain highly accurate inspection records and digital quality documentation within company systems.
Collaboration & Technical Troubleshooting
• International Vendor Liaison: Assist engineering in troubleshooting machine errors, translating technical requirements, and collaborating directly with overseas equipment manufacturers and vendors to resolve software bugs or mechanical flaws.
• Bridging Quality & Production: Partner closely with production, machining, and engineering teams to quickly resolve floor quality issues and optimize automated throughput.
• Continuous Improvement: Follow company safety procedures and quality standards while assisting with continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and automated manufacturing processes.

We are looking for someone who:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required. A technical degree or certification in metrology, industrial automation, or robotics is a strong plus.
• Experience: 2–5 years of inspection or quality experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, with a dedicated background in programming or setting up
automated testing/inspection equipment.
• Blueprint Fluency: Exceptional ability to read and interpret blueprints, complex engineering drawings, technical schematics, and work instructions.
• Technical Savvy: High comfort level with software navigation; ability to problemsolve and adapt to non-intuitive UI/UX layouts common in overseas-manufactured machinery.
• Precision Tools: Proficient experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment alongside strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Independence: Strong ability to complete inspection reports, work independently, and contribute effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• MSA & Gage R&R Proficiency: Demonstrated experience conducting Gage R&R studies and applying MSA methodologies to validate manufacturing measurement
systems.
• Calibration Expertise: Strong background in managing equipment calibration programs, working with master gauges, and maintaining compliance with nationally/internationally traceable standards.
• CNC Environment Background: Experience working within CNC machining or automated fabrication environments. • GD&T Mastery: Strong working understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to properly program automated tolerances. • Modern Systems: Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ISO quality standards preferred , with experience using ERP, SAP, or quality management software systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to move up to 50lbs.
  • Can wear PPE.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
  • Can make repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting, and walking up and down stairs.
  • Can withstand the manufacturing/furnace environment with exposure to heat, dust, and industrial equipment.
