Position: ​Manufacturing Safety Specialist
Department: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
Reports To: EHS Manager / Director of Operations
Shift: 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm

About this role
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and enforcing workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a critical part in promoting a culture of safety, reducing workplace incidents, and ensuring all employees adhere to established safety standards and procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and update safety manuals, SOPs, and training material
  • Training & Communication
    • Conduct new hire safety orientations and ongoing safety training
    • Coordinate and track required safety training for all employees and contractors
    • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness campaigns
  • Inspections & Audits
    • Perform routine safety inspections of facilities, equipment, and work areas
    • Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
    • Track and follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely resolution
  • Incident Management
    • Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses
    • Document findings and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
    • Maintain OSHA logs and internal incident reports
  • Compliance & Reporting
    • Ensure accurate recordkeeping for OSHA logs, training records, and safety metrics
    • Assist with regulatory audits and inspections
    • Prepare safety reports and KPI tracking for leadership
  • Employee Support & Engagement
    • Serve as a point of contact for safety concerns and questions
    • Promote a proactive safety culture across all departments
    • Work closely with supervisors to ensure accountability for safety practices
  • Contractor & Visitor Safety
    • Support contractor onboarding and ensure compliance with site safety requirements
    • Monitor contractor activities for adherence to safety standards
We are Looking for Someone Who:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to identify hazards and implement practical solutions
  • Excellent communication and training skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Certifications (Preferred but not Required)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
Physical Requirements:
• Able to move up to 50lbs.
• Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
• Can wear PPE.
• Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
• Is capable of making repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting, and walking up and down stairs.
