Job Summary
Fluxco wins on the shortest lead time in the market—and that edge starts at the quote. We need someone who can take a customer's specs and turn them into a correct, buildable transformer configuration fast, so we can quote reliably and deliver on the promise. You'll be the technical engine behind every quote: reading one-line diagrams and nameplate data, sizing and selecting the equipment, and handing the team quote inputs they can trust. It's precise work—a wrong configuration is a wrong quote—and it's where Fluxco's speed is either real or it isn't. Get it right and you make the whole company faster.
Core Responsibilities
- Translate customer requirements—specs, one-line diagrams, nameplate data, RFQs, job scopes—into complete, buildable equipment configurations.
- Size and select transformers and associated equipment, running the electrical checks (load, impedance/short-circuit, voltage) that prove the configuration works.
- Produce clean, accurate quote inputs—bills of material, datasheets, configuration specs—the team can quote against without second-guessing.
- Validate feasibility, options, and lead times with the supply team and OEM partners before a quote goes out.
- Build and maintain a library of standard configurations, sizing guidelines, and quoting tools so every repeat quote gets faster.
- Handle technical clarifications with customers during quoting, and support order execution alongside engineering.
Requirements
- Experience: 3–7 years in applications, sales, or technical engineering for transformers, switchgear, or medium-voltage power-distribution equipment.
- Configuration depth: You can read specs, one-line diagrams, and nameplate data and independently size and select transformers and associated equipment. This is the bar—non-negotiable.
- Electrical fundamentals: Solid grounding in power systems and power distribution, with the sizing calcs—short-circuit, load, voltage drop—at your fingertips.
- Customer-facing translation: You sit between a customer's language and a correct configuration and turn it into a quote the team can trust—fast and accurate, not one or the other.
